I have been needing to replace the motor coupler in my Kenmore washer every 5 or 6 months. It just broke again for the 4th time. Any way to prevent this from happening?

The motor coupling is a fail safe part that breaks when too much stress is place on the connection between the motor and the transmission. If yours is breaking it could be the transmission has a problem, or the pump is jamming. Check those out. This is highly unusual, hard to diagnose.
