Hi,
I have dishwasher Whirlpool WDT710PAYM4 which I purchased together with the house. After couple of weeks of use the dishwasher start to have some problem with the drain, at the moment it suppose to drain it was humming instead. However, after couple of on/off trains the drain was kicking in and draining the water.
This however stopped after about a mount and it is not draining any more. Couple of things I did to diagnose a problem.
1. Checked all the drain pipes - all are clean and in good conditions
2. Checked the continuity of the drain pump and the resistance when turning the motor - seems to be fine.
3. Ordered the new motor (just to be sure) but this didn't solve the problem.
4. Checked the voltage on the wires that provide power the drain pump and - at "turn off" stage it is 0 V - when I simulate high water stage (with the switch inside the dishwasher) and press drain button the voltage rises to 30 V and stays like this for about 30 seconds. After this time voltage goes down to 0 V.
5. I checked the voltage behavior of the pump that provides water to the dishwasher (it has similar voltage characteristics 120V but is a little bigger). When the program stars this pump first gets 30 V and after couple of seconds the voltage rises to appropriate 120 V.
I am wandering if the problem might be not enough voltage delivered to the drain pump? And this might be caused by the burned relay. Is there any way to get the diagram of the electronic for my dishwasher model? I would try to replace the relay.
Or is there any way to buy the entire controller?
Have any of you experienced similar problem? Any other suggestions how could I diagnose it?
Regards, Paul
