I have a Whirlpool Washer. I am trying to remove the 2 piece agitator , but only the top part comes out of washer. The lower part is like wielded in there. Is there a screw I am not seeing?

Without a model number I can only assume that this is basic Whirlpool top loader in which case the lower part of the agitator should lift off. Sometimes gunk can make this difficult in which case a helper will help, but be very careful, it might release suddenly and bang you in the face.
