dryer would not turn just hummed i opened the door held in the saftey button hit start and and turned the drum by hand and it took off and spun just fine but now after about 1-2 minutes the top of the dryer gets so hot it will almost burn you any help would be appriated thanks Brandon central ks

If you run a unit with the door open, this is normal.
The air is pulled over the heating coils, through the drum to the blower and then pushed out the exhaust. If you run it with the door open no air is pulled across the heating coils so they overheat.

Also the heat just rises and makes the top hot.

thank you i will try drying a load tonight and check it a few times maybe the drum was just stuck thanks again Brandon
