I am trying to replace the tub seal. I am up to the point where you take the large nut off before the outer tub comes out. I put my pipe wrench on the nut and tap with a hammer and the whole shaft just turns. I have soaked it with wd-40 and waited and tried again, but no luck. Help?

I did get the hub that holds the outer tub off. I had to take out the whole transmission piece and then i was able to get a good tap on the pipe wrench with the hammer. The tub seal is replaced and a new belt too. Washer is quiet and no apparent leaks. Thanks to app. and the posts i read, i saved a great deal of money.
