Hello,
Our front load washer won't drain all the water after the cycle ends. There's no water in the tub but if you spin the tub after the cycle you can hear a lot of water in the bottom of the washer.
The clothes are coming out just fine but we have to leave the door open after the cycle because it starts to smell if the door is left clothes and it's opened again in a week to do another load.
So it's draining as the washer is going because the tub is dry but it's just not draining all of the water at the end of the cycle. When spinning the tub it sounds like there's a few gallons or so left in there under the tub.

Another question, once in a while the load will get unbalanced and the washer shakes and starts moving. The dryer gas line is only a few inches away from the washer and the pipe sticks out about 4" from the wall. I'm worried that if it shakes enough that it can bust the pipe then the whole house would fill with gas. Any suggestions?
Thanks

The water you hear sloshing around is normal. There is fluid sealed in the balance ring of the drum. There will also always be some water in the drain lines where the pump is. The pump cannot pump all the water out. Moldy musty smells are common with front loaders. You should leave the door open to help avoid that problem. As for the out of balance, I can't say, could be a number of things. You should call a tech for that.
