Washer fills but motor does not run. I have checked the lid switch/fuse with meter and it is ok. Checked motor it turns freely by hand as do the pump and transmission. Belts are Ok. Checked leads to every thing and there is no corrosion. There is power and cord is good. Looked to see if there was an overload protection but could not find one. There is no burnt smell and the washer was used yesterday and did not make any unusual noises.

I do not know what else to check - any help will be greatly appreciated.

If you can locate a wiring diagram use it to find the wires that power the motor and see if you can tell if power is getting to the motor when it should agitate.

Thanks that fixed the problem. Had an intermittent fault in one of two lid switches.
