I have a Roper washer that does not agitate. It will spin and drain and fill with water. After starting the machine, it fills with water and then stops, no noise or any movement. The timer will move to the next position, but it never agitates.
I have replaced the lid switch and the Direct Drive Coupler, which the coupler was in good condition.
There are no stray noises or activity.
What could it be at this point???

It could be the agitator dogs, so check that but if that were the problem you would hear the motor running and the agitator would move a little bit.
So if the dogs are not the problem take off the cabinet and operate the machine and check to see if the motor is turning during the agitation cycle. If it is not the timer (or the motor switch) may be the issue, if it is turning then the transmission is the likely problem.
