Hello,
I have a GE Profile electric dryer that won't shut off. It dries our clothes, however it does not shut off at the end of the cycle. Neither timed nor automatic dry shut off. Often it gets hung up in cool down mode. Other times it just endlessly runs with zero time left on the timer. Outside of this the dryer works well, so I would like to fix this problem rather than replace the dryer. Please offer any suggestions for parts to diagnose or replace.
Thanks Ed

Hello Eric,
Thanks! Just my luck that it's a $118 control board and not a $40 thermostat. I purchased the control board and will post back to confirm if it fixed the problem. The part is out of stock so it might be a week or two before it arrives.
Thanks again, Ed

Follow up: I installed the recommended control board and the dryer is working correctly. Thanks for the advice!
