Good morning-

I have an Amana20. Cleaned, vacuumed it down below as it needed it.

Seems to be cool but not cold?

Could not find part number and will search again for it again. Did not see it inside must be in the back somewhere??

Ice is not melting but can tell its just not cold as it was a few days back.

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thank you. GooAy

PS This the type of fridge that has the freezer door below instead of above. Thank you.

FYI

I went ahead and removed the rear freezer panel and noticed that the cooling coils seemed fine.


Maybe a little frost but I believe that's how its suppose to look right?

The timer and heater looked OK too ...

Nothing appeared blown or burned?

Although someone mentioned the timer maybe down below front or in the upper control panel? Any ideas guys?

Not sure what the problem is?

I also could not locate the model number on the Amana fridge. Looked everywhere including the rear of fridge...



All I could find is an ice maker sticker?? With fridge schismatic

Why they wouldn't place a sticker with the correct Amana Fridge model in a visible place is beyond me??



Would any of the Pros here have some insights on what the prob may be??

Check the freezer temperature with a thermometer.
Should be between 0 and 5 degrees F.

The coils look good.

Is the evaporator/freezer fan running?
On most units it should be on when the compressor is on.

A model number would really help here, please take another look for it.
Find your model number - AppliancePartsPros.com

Many units have a damper between the freezer and fresh food sections.
Some of these are just manual controlled but others are controlled by a thermostat. Sometimes it is built into the damper.
Check that it is open.

I will check for damper and stat & look under & behind the lower crisper & behind kick plate for model number. Thank you for that link, I did not think to take crisper drawers out??

Good evening DMan...

Well you hit it right on. We'll done & many props & hats off to you friend!

1st model number was at the kick plate as your link forwarded stated. That being the case nearly impossible to read.

Secondly timer was below to the left of the defrost pan in an awkward spot to change out if ever need be. Yet that was not required as behind the crisper was the damper and there where 3/4 wrappers of sorts blocking and constricting air flow from below. Removed them and double checked heater by fast forwarding the timer manually and all seemed in order. I believe the problem is solved :)

Lastly I can't begin to thank you for your professional diagnosis and help with this matter. Economically things aren't what they could or should be for me and being able to follow your instructions & doing it myself saved me a few bucks and for that I'm very grateful. Thank you dear sir!
