I have an Amana ARS9168AC with the following issue. Water is leaking from the left bottom corner of the freezer. The bottom is cover in ice but I cannot see anywhere inside that the water is coming from. I have turned off the supply to water dispenser but the ice/water leaking will still occur. Any ideas of where this water is coming from? Thank you for any inputs you have.

Here are your parts
Parts for Amana ARS9168AC / PARS9168AC0 - AppliancePartsPros.com

The water is probably from the auto defrost.

Sounds like drain tube is plugged so that the water from the defrost cycle cannot drain into the drain pan.

I would check that it is clear.
IThe defrost water drips into a a pan under the evaporator coils in the freezer and then down to the drip tray under the unit.
If plugged a turkey baster with warm water, an air compressor with low pressure or a wire can often be used to clear it.

Also check that it is not plugged with dust etc. at the drain pan end.
You might as well clean the condenser/compressor fan and the condenser coils while you are down there.

If it looks like stuff is growing in the tube I would flush it with a 10% bleach solution. This should kill the stuff and let you flush it out. You may have to do this several times, let it sit for 15 minutes or so between flushes.

Be careful that the drip tray does not overflow and empty the drip tray after you are done.

Be sure to unplug the unit while doing this.

This would also be a good time to clean the condenser/compressor coils and the compressor fan. Be sure to unplug the unit when doing this. Also be gentle as you do not want to cause a freon leak.

Sorry it took so long to reply but just to let you know everything works now. No leaking. That was exactly what the problem was. I cleaned out everything as you stated so I should be good for awhile. Thanks again!

You are welcome.

And thanks for getting back to us. Now when others search for a similar problem they will see what actually worked instead of just suggestions about what could be the cause.
