Jet engine sound on spin cycle for years but lately it is much louder. Can I replace the rear bearing and lip seal without having to replace the entire outer tub assembly($500) ? Maytag says no. A non maytag parts guy on internet says he sells the bearings/seal kits for $80. Not sure if I should attempt that route...any thoughts on non authorized parts....any other suggestions besides buy a new washer?!

Thanks in advance.

The non authorized parts is not a problem, but doing the work correctly is. This is a hard job for anyone who has not done it a number of times.

Sorry, but buying a new one is the recommended solution to this problem on front loaders.
