Hi,

My Kenmore 800 top loader of six years won't start, fill, or agitate. Won't agitate when I filled the tub manually with buckets of water. Although it will spin and drain if I set the knob to the spin position.

What could be the cause? Is it the timer or sensor switch problem?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Many thanks!!

Could be the timer or load sense unit (fabric softener switch). Open control panel and disconnect the two wire connector from fabric softener switch and jump the wires together (should be violet and blue/orange wires). See if agitation works now, doesn't have to have water in tub. If no agitation, then looks like faulty timer. If it does agitate, then replace the fabric softener switch.

Thanks very much for your advices!

I replaced the timer, and it fixed the agitate problem but won't fills. So I replaced the load sense unit/fabric softener switch also. Now the washing machine will agitates while filling. Any way to fix this problem?

Many Thanks!

Sounds like you got another faulty load sense switch. Did you buy it from APP?

No, since APP does not ship to international, unfortunately.

The load sense (fabric softener switch) was brand new/sealed.

Oh, when I set the knob to the spin position, the machine will spin while filling with water.

Do I need to replace a new load sense switch (fabric switch)?

The washer filling while in spin cycle would be caused by a faulty timer.
