Washer will not spin, but does barely agitate intermittently. There is a strange noise coming from the drain pump. What do you think the problem is?

The first thing I would do is remove the bottom panel, disconnect the hoses from the drain pump and check for a foreign objects inside.

It suppose to be an envelope with the tech sheets behind this panel and if the drain pump is not the issue, then perform troubleshooting as described in the tech sheets.

- The part number for the drain pump is AP2108083

Here are the break down diagrams for the Frigidaire washer Model GLTF1670AS0

I followed Gene's directions and removed the pump. My water was not coming out of the washer (Fridgedaire GLTF1670AS0) and I had that wierd noise when it was on the "final Spin" cycle. Luckily for me it was a small 2 inch nail that had stuck in the pump fan and was preventing the pump from spinning. I saved $100 and it only took 1/2 hour of troble shooting because I went to this forum.
