Older kitchenaid washer that worked fine and then?

I was doing a load of laundry and I decided to put in one more item and I hit the hold button to stop the washer in the wash cycle. I put in the item and hit the start button but there was no power, nothing. I proceeded to hit buttons but nothing at all. The light button on the washer works so there is power, I jvst don't know what the problem is? Any kind of spitball answers would be greatly appreciated. NOTE, earlier I had to wiggle the machine to get it going, I don't know what that means.

Thye first thing to check is your lid switch. On some models it will stop the machine from agitating. Take off the cabinet (see the videos on this Forum) and bypass it or just check the connection for continuity.
