Hi,

My refrigerator stopped cooling a few weeks ago, the fans still works but when I open the rear panel, The right side of it has iced on it (See picture attached)

I've read this seems to be a defrost issue. I have a voltage meter but have no idea what a defrost looks like or the heater in the fridge but I'm very willing to learn and save myself a few bucks. I'm a computer science engineer, how hard can this be?

Please help!, My food is currently on plastic ice coolers.

Thank you in advance!

If the compressor is warm and vibrating, you have a bad compressor/ refrigerant leak.

I don't hear the compressor vibrating. After I placed a fan to defrost the ice built up (on the picture), I reconnected the fridge last night and I will check if the compressor is hot and see about the temperature. I'm asumming it will be cold when I get there tonight but I might run into the same problems of not defrosting properly.

I will post back my results tonight. If it's hot and vibrating, is it easy to replace?
