Hi; I have this Kenmore 800 series washer. I recently found that the spin speed on the 2nd rinse of Normal cycle is slower (same as for delicate cycle) than it is for the 1st rinse (1st and 2nd spin). When the options switch is set to 2nd rinse, the spin speed for the 2nd rinse is the slower one.
When I run the Ultra cycle with the 2nd rinse option, the spin speeds are all fast. My first thought is that the timer is faulty. But after further thought, I have to second guess that diagnosis. If the timer were bad, wouldn't the machine simply fail to spin at all during that part of the cycle - and just sit there doing nothing while it is supposed to be spinning?
The only way I can think that a problem with spin speed could be the timer is if the motor is wired in such a way that the slow spin requires only one connection but the fast speed requires two. I have been unable to locate a schematic diagram or a logic chart for the timer.
Then there is the third possibility: The spin speed for the 2nd rinse on the Normal cycle is designed to be slower. But I highly doubt this, as the slower spin speed will leave a heavier load dripping.
Any ideas? Thanks FW
EDIT: Finally decided to pop open the control panel and found the schematic / timer logic chart. Turns out that the 2nd rinse on the Normal cycle has slow speed spin by design. So happy that I didn't waste money on a new timer!

What is the wiring diagram/timer chart part no.? The one I have for your washer is W10129636 revision A. It shows spin speed for second rinse in normal cycle as high speed. If your diagram is W10107050, then you have an earlier version of this washer. Can you provide a clear high res photo of your wiring diagram and timer chart? Eric Added: Sears parts lists your timer as original part number 8578227 with new replacement timer as 280223. The new timer should coincide with the new timer chart and would fix your problem. If you buy the timer from APP and it doesn't fix the problem, you may return it. http://www.appliancepartspros.c...er-280223-ap3965585.html
