how to remove old tub bearing without damaging flimsy outter tub ??

a 14"long 2x4 piece of wood,a 3"x5" solid rubber block{2" thick} and a 4lb mini sledge hammer is what i used to remove the old tub bearing from the outter tub with no damage to the tub.a couple of good whacks from the inside of tub and it came rite out like magic !!!!

The service tech just did this job at my house today. He used a long wide drift punch , from bottom drove up from top drove down. He has a special tool to install the new bearings. The shaft was badly galled and one bearing bad.The repair took him about an hour.
