Hello, I have a Roper Dryer. It runs fine, but with no heat. I removed the back and checked all the sensors and fuse inside, and had continuity on all. Can I have continuity and it still be broke, or is it something else, maybe the timer?
Thank you in advance.

Here are your parts Parts for Roper RED4440VQ1 Dryer - AppliancePartsPros.comSee the attachment for the wiring diagram. The first thing to check when you have no heat is the power. The motor runs on half the line (120 volts) but the heater requires the full 240. On this unit the timer also uses 240. Place the unit in timed dry and start it. Does the timer advance? If not it is probably a power problem. Try flipping the breaker off/on slowly a couple times. Sometimes you can loose half the line without actually tripping the breaker. Check the voltage at the plug L1 to L2 should be 240 volts L1 to Neutral and L2 to Neutral, both should be 120 volts. If OK Unplug the unit and check the wires at the terminal strip in the machine to make sure none are loose or burned out If OK Check the power at the terminal strip. Do this with the heater off and on. Be careful as 240 volts is lethal !!! |
