I HAVE A MICROWAVE AND THE INSIDE SCREEN WAS TOUCHED BY SOMETHING METAL I ASSUME AND CAUSED A SHORT AND MADE A VERY SMALL BURN IN THE MESH. IT ONLY MADE THE SMALL HOLE OPEN TO WHAT IS NOW THE SIZE OF TWO HOLE (VERY HARD TO NOTICE UNLESS YOU LOOK VERY CLOSELY. MY QUESTION IS DO I NEED TO REPLACE THE ENTIRE SCREEN MESH. IT DID MELT THE PLASTIC WHICH I AM GOING TO REPLACE. IS THIS A MICROWAVE RADIATION ISSUE? ONCE AGAIN THERE IS ONE SPOT NOW THE SIZE OF TWO HOLES. hELP!

Basically, the waves of RF energy produced by the magnetron are the size of a number 2 pencil lead. If the hole is bigger than that, which it sounds like it is, you will definitely want to replace it. The inner door assembly is available at the link below.
