You will need an ammeter to measure the current draw while running to diagnose with more certainty, though. Keep in mind that microwaves use a very high voltage (> 3,000 VAC) during operation and there is potential for harm while servicing, even while unplugged! Knowing this, you will have to decide if you are comfortable replacing the magnetron.
