I just bought a ge smooth top stove used yesterday. I decided to try the self cleaning oven and okay i closed the door latch and it locked. fine. next after about 30 minutes i decided to turn it off and tried to open the door latch and it wont slide. my question is does it have to cool down before it will unlock. ive been reading about the down side of self clean ovens so i hope i havent messed it up. please help!!

Unplug it or shut off breaker then check

Yes most units need to cool down before the door will open. |

Good news...it did open. whew...lol....it had to cool down.Well never having this type of stove i will be learning alot....thanks so very much for your help.:)
