I have this appliance, manufactured in 06-05. A loud fan (or motor) type of noise cycles on and off, but not on any type of regular schedule. It can get quite loud, sounding like it is struggling to work. Also, when I open the refrigerator door, the front of the wall that separates it from the freezer can be pretty warm to the touch. I am curious if that is normal, as I haven't noticed it until recently. Also, do you have a recommendation for that motor/fan sounding part? Is this a sign that I should just plan to replace the whole appliance soon?
I got great advice (and the parts) from you guys when the ice maker broke a few years ago, so thanks for that!

Here are your parts Parts for Whirlpool KSRP25FNSS00 Refrigerator - AppliancePartsPros.comYou have two fans in the unit. One in the freezer (evaporator fan) One in he machine compartment under the unit (condenser fan). you have to find out which one is making the noise. The condenser fan is the most likely. If it is not running correctly then it will cause the front wall area to get hot. Also check that the condenser coils are clean and that the vents in the kick plate and rear cover are clean. Probably you just need a new fan. |
