Hi, I have a kenmore 80 series washing machine and a lot of times when we wash something heavy like bath towels the spin cycle will not work, on lighter loads it works fine. on heavy loads i have to take out the towels, hand wring them, put them back in the machine and then the spin cycle will work. i looked underneath the machine and there had definately been oil leaking under there. i think that i need to replace the clutch but do you think I will need to replace anything else?
what will stop the oil from leaking?
thank you for your help!

The oil leaking means your gearcase is going out but they will leak years sometimes before they lock up.............check the motor coupling it's probably worn bad also it's between the motor and gearcase.......watch a youtube video on how to dismantle a top loader and you can check out sears parts website with your model number for schematics and part breakdowns so you can identify stuff. good luck
