Wondering if someone has any ideas. One of the 8" solid element cast iron burners on our vintage 1988 Whirlpool stove is overheating; when that burner turned on, the rest of the non-burner enameled portion of the stove top becomes as hot as the turned on burner. The other burners are not effected.
Now, a second front 6" burner, is doing the same thing, over heating the stove top. The enameled blank portion of the stove top becomes hot enough to cook on.
The other two back burners, 1-8" and 1-6" appear to be operating normally ... at this point.
Wondering if it is a switch or the burners themselves causing the issue. P.S. What is the function of the "infinite switch"?
