My Whirlpool dryer stopped working a couple of days ago. I just finished drying a load and added a new load. When I press the start button nothing happens.
I can set the timer and hear it clicking down. I checked the door sensor to make sure it wasn't broken. It is still in place and clicks when I press it. The lint trap was cleaned from the previous load, so nothing there. I flipped the breaker a couple of times to make sure that wasn't the issue.
Looking on this forum and I can't find anything specifically like my issue but from the related posts it seems like I may need a new motor???
Nothing burned out, as far as I can tell and I am hoping it is just the switch that needs to be replaced. I don't want to buy a new motor if I don't have to.
Any advice would be great!
Thanks in advance!!!

Check the switch for continuity first by disconnecting wires and checking it by itself. Then reconnect the wires and check for voltage going in and voltage going out when you press the start button. If that doesn't work tear unit apart and test the belt switch if your unit has one under the belt tensioner and if it doesn't check the motor for voltage on the connector make sure the connector is in clean condition and that it's snapped onto the motor correctly. When the drum out test the motor by jumping the door switch from hot to nuetral then press start.....good luck
