make sure the belt is wound around the idler pulley correctly. watch the pulley while it is running and make sure it is not hitting anything

Sorry for the delay. The day before yesterday I didn't want to look at the dryer so I didn't mess with it. Yesterday I was just too busy. That leaves today. There's not really much room to get in there and see what's happening. We'll give it a try. Also, how would I put the belt on the pulley wrong? It seems like there's only one way.

I think we got it. One thing I forgot to do after I put the new slides in was to put the oil on that came with them. I did that this time. Also, my tensioner wheel seems to have a groove in it. I set the belt in the groove so the wheel would be "floating" and not rubbing the front "bolt-like" thing that holds it on the rod and keeps it from coming off.
I'm not sure which of those (or both of those) or if it's something totally different... but it seems to be back to normal.
THANKS A TON for your help. Dryer got fixed for $70.00 and almost like new. Appreciate it.
