I have a GE Advantium oven (Model SCA 1000 DBB 03) that the microwave is not working. I was in the process of heating a cup of water and heard the oven making an unusual hum so I opened the oven to see if it was heating the water. It was not.

As I was reaching into the oven I could smell something hot like something electrical burning. The odor was coming from the area behind the control panel on the right side of the oven. I took out a few screws and pulled down the the control panel and the odor was a lot stronger inside the cavity. Could the problem be the microwave unit attached to the outside wall of the oven cavity behind the control panel?

If that is the problem, is it very difficult to change out the defective part?

I have not had any problems previously with the convection part of the oven so I have not checked it out.

My wife and I use the oven for most of our cooking (Microwave or convection), AND WE AND REALLY MISS THE CONVENIENCE. IT'S NICE NOT
HEATING UP THE WHOLE HOUSE FOR SMALL MEALS.

Thanks,
Terry K:(

I was curious if your oven issue was resolved. We are having the same problem here.

Thanks!
