Suddently my microwave keeps on running and does not stop until I open the door. I pulled the power cord and plugged it back hoping to clear the problem but the problem remains. It runs by itself when door closed. I tried pressing all different buttons but have no effect. The only way to stop it is to open the door. When the door is open, lighs comes on and it stops running.
Please help tell me what is wrong with it.

Hi.

You need to check the door switches and replace the bad one.
Please check the model number, the one you provided doesn't come up.

Simon.

Yes, you're right I miscopied the model number. Correct model number for this GE microwave is JVM1740DM1WW
