My dryer works fine the first time I run it(when its cool), but once it heats up and is stopped, I cannot get it started again. When I push start, it hums loudly, and then can't get the drum spinning and shuts itself off. Once it has cooled down, it will start normally again. Could this be the starter capacitor? Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Thanks Simon. Any thoughts about the whether it might be the starter capacitor, not the motor itself?

I can feel your pain, but it's the motor.
Simon.
