Hi, Just took our Amana side by side AC2228HEKB out of 2 year storage and it refuses to cool. It was stored upright whilst in storage and worked fine before.

The compressor starts, vibrates and gets warm to the touch so I'm presuming the start relay is ok? The evap fan also seems to run fine. Air is supplied to both fridge and freezer compartments but at room temp only, it is not conditioned air. Control panel functions normally along with internal lighting etc.

I have left it running for about 8 hours to ensure it wasn't in a defrost mode but no luck.

Any suggestions gratefully received!

EDIT The fan running seems to be the condenser fan, is that different to the evap fan?

Yes they are different.
The condenser/compressor is Item 14 in Section 2. It cools the condenser coils and compressor.
The evaporator/freezer fan is Item 10 in Section 5. It pulls air through the evaporator coils to cool it. It also circulates the air in the unit.

Since the compressor is running it should at least give some cooling. Remove the cover inside the freezer so you can inspect the evaporator coils.
If it has no frost or only frost in one area then you have a sealed system problem.
This will be an expensive repair as you need a pro. Often it makes more sense to put the dollars towards a new unit.
