Recently received the clock timer (AP4587851) for our old but still good oven, but learned that the installation of the new one was not the problem. It was the fact that I did not know how to remove the old one from the "clock mounting bracket" that holds it in place. All I know about that part is the 4 silver tabs on top. Seems like this should be easy, but to me it's sadly not. Would greatly appreciate your help.

I'm afraid you have to pull the oven out of the cabinet at least half way and try to gain the access from the top of it.

Gene,

Thanks for taking the time to respond, but I must repectfully disagree with your view that oven has to be at least partially removed. I know this from having watched my mechanically brilliant friend who, while visiting my wife and I this morning, set about to remove and replace the clock timer. With the upper bar having been previously removed by me, the front panel was lifted out by pulling straight up. After removing red and yellow connecting wires, and prying out the connections holding part to back plate, the rest was a matter of screwing and unscrewing. Timer clock now works like a charm. No oven removal necessary. Appreciate the try though. Many thanks.
