<P>Read previous similar post but did not understand solution. </P> <P> </P> <P>I have a GE microwave (JVM1851WD001) with a magnetron blower and interior light that comes on when the door is shut. No cooking cycle is selected and pressing STOP does not stop the magnetron blower from running. Control panel functions (clock, timer, power level, express cook, etc.) but cannot start cycle. Sound when pressing buttons more muffled and vibratory than usual crisp beep.</P> <P> </P> <P>Any thoughts? Bad door switch or bigger problem?<BR></P>

Bad door switch or bigger problem?<BR></P> There are relays which are responsible for turning various things on and off located on the front electronic control panel circuit board. One of them is either frozen in the closed (or on) position, or the computer part of the board is engaging them when they are not supposed to be.

I have had some success repairing other appliances. Would replacing the smart board take care of the problem? Interlock switches tested OK with multimeter.

It's hard to be 100% when trying to diagnose something over the internet. But from the description you gave me that's where I think the problem lies. I suspect that simply from my experience from running across that problem myself and actually repairing some of the boards.
