My old Whirlpool micro has worked great until 5 days ago. It will not power up, no clock, etc. I found a blown fuse. A warning label inside the cabinet states that if replacing fuse, the monitor switch should also be replaced. Is the fuse / switch the problem? We have frequent power "bumps" here. What would have caused the fuse to blow? Old age, power bumps, or some other problem?

Thanks, Jeff......... hey jeffmayer, the exact same thing happened to me today. fortunately my brother is an appliance technician. he said the only reason why you would need to replace the switch is if the fuse fixes it but then it stops working shortly there after. i put a fuse and it's working like a charm. did you get yours working?
