washer wont drain,makes whining noise and spins slow

the washing machine completes the wash cycle fine, but when it goes to spin to extract the water, it goes too slow to extract water, maybe 50% of the normal speed. there is water leaking from the bottom and it makes a whining noise. i'm not afraid to try and fix it, but can someone tell me what needs to be repaired please. thanks

Hi. Sounds like the drain pump is going bad. I don't know how good you are in DIY but here is the part and the video clip. The drain pump Part number: 3363394

Simon. hi simon, thanks for replying so quickly, i did replace the pump in december, so i dont think thats it, also, i dont remember it whining when it needed to be changed or it spinning slowly. also, in the tub, there was alot of debris, like when a sink is clogged. what is that indicative of? ernel

checked the drain pump, turns out my daughters sock some how found its way in there! you were on the money!!!!!!!! thanks, i had to order in a new pump because the the sock somehow damaged it causing it to leak. thanks a million. you saved us $1800. my wife was frustated and thats the washer/dryer cost she was looking at! WHEW!!! that was close. needless to say, we are washing again.
