Hi folks. I have an oven that won't heat on bake, broil or self clean. It also won't lock the latch for self clean, instead the display will blink while attempting to lock the latch. The error code is E1-F5. Following the tech sheet, I replaced the latch. Still have the same problem, and the new code was E6-F2. So I replaced the control--and I still have no heat on bake, broil or self clean, although the latch now locks on self clean. Any ideas?

Thanks so much
Brad

Most likely the problem with your oven is a blown thermal fuse (#37 on the oven break down diagram) due to overheat during a self clean.

In order to replace the thermal fuse the oven has to be removed from the cabinet.

- The part number for the thermal fuse is AP3008987

Here are the break down diagrams for the Whirlpool oven Model RBS305PDQ10

Thank you Gene. I had sort of assumed that the thermal fuse was next based on what I had read in other messages. Sure enough it was toast. I replaced it and now it heats up in bake and broil modes. However, on self clean the latch will not lock and and oven will not heat. It gives me an F5-E1. Remember I have also replaced the latch and control unit. Wiring all appears to be okay, and yes all my problems started after I perfomed a self clean........

Thanks again
Brad

Hi Brad,

I would check the door switch now.

Check for continuity across the terminals P3-4 (BR) and P3-5 (TAN) at the control board.

With the door open the circuit should be closed and with the door closed the circuit should be open.

Otherwise replace the door switch.

Gene.

Hi Gene, turns out that if I push the door closed as far as possible everything works fine. There's no obstruction in the door area and the seal looks good. The oven light goes out with the door closed, but the door doesn't quite close far enough to allow it to lock for auto clean. So looks like maybe the hinges are bent, but I can live with it for now as long as it cooks.

I really appreciate your feedback and everyone who may have helped.

Thanks so much!
Brad
