Refrigerator runs. Alot! Constantly, I cleaned the coils underneath, no apparent frost or leaks, icemakerworks like a champ but the compressor and fans rarely shut down.

I'm concerned.

Turn the controls to the lowest temperature and measure the stabilized freezer temperature. Freezer should get way down below 15, if not, pull the back freezer panel and check the frost pattern, partial frost, or heavy, complete frost.

Thanks Richhappy, i did what you suggested, temp gets down to about 10 degrees, coils are frosted just in the middle section. Spoke to a GE tech. he said defrost cycle is not running long enough. I changed out the defrost thermostat. Seems to be cutting down on the ice more. But runs for a long long cycle, like it's struggling to get back to temp. Is it time to junk it?

If you defrosted the coils completely, and it will not go below 10 degrees, you have a refrigerant leak/ bad compressor, this assumes you have a constantly running compressor. If you think it might not be, check the motherboard for bad solder joints.
