If it's true then the problem most likely is a bad potentiometer. Thermador had redesigned this part and replaced it with a potentiometer kit which includes simmer control , two new potentiometers and installation instructions. - The potentiometer kit Part number: AP3872616 Here are the breakdown diagrams and Replacement parts for THERMADOR SGCS304RS \| AppliancePartsPros.com Gene.
