The washer has been operating normally until this problem occurred.

Checking the lid switch
When I set the timer to agitate or spin and close the lid I get a low buzzing sound almost like a 60 cycle hum. No burned electric odor detected.

Checking drive coupler and motor
I bailed out the tub and turned the washer on its front. The coupler is intact and the motor and gear box spin freely when turned by hand.. The motor does not operate when energized. Again no burned electric odor detected from the motor nor any obvious signs of excessive heat.
I trust that this is enough information
Thanks to all in advance

When I have this problem, which is fairly often I usually find something like a sock has washed into the pump. Check it out.
