I am not getting water to the ice maker or water dispenser. The farthest water goes is to the saddle connection right before the water valve. I took out the water valve and it seems clogged.
Can a water valve go bad? or can it be cleaned?
There are 2 electrical connections/or fuses[green] and [yellow] on top of the valve, are these needing replacement?
Thanks My regards.

Quote:...Can a water valve go bad?... Yes, it can and it is very common problem. Quote:...can it be cleaned?... I do not trust in it. The best solution is to replace the water valve. - The water valve Part number: AP2115312

Hi Gene or qualified APP Volunteer Expert, thanks for the info. I have ordered the part from APP and installed it. Great! The water dispenser works again! But the ice maker doesn't still. Hasn't ever worked(since purchasing the home a year ago).
I removed the ice maker, cleaned it and inspected it.
The IM looks fine now but doesn't seem to get any power.
Also, the water disp. originally stopped working when I was filling up a 5 gal jug. Is this not advised?(Running the disp for like 10 mins straight?) I would think thats what made my previous water valve go out.
Thanks
Chris

I removed the cover and user a flat head screwdriver to advance the IM to just after the wire lever falls(that monitors ice level).
And added water by hand. It does nothing. I don't have a voltage meter but I did use a tic tracer and it responded that the cord that plugs into the IM is powered.

It is very important to find out if the problem is inside the ice maker or outside and you have to have a simple multimeter in order to do it.

Hi Gene,
I just went ahead and ordered a complete ice maker from here at APP. I am pretty sure it just needs to be replaced its about 10 years old and it was only 80$ here.
It should arrive next Wednesday and Ill see what happens when I install it.
Thanks
Chris
