Help! Our washer suddenly stopped working. Maytag MAVT546EWW. I set it to start filling. It fills for maybe 5-10 seconds then stops. We've tried every setting, we've unplugged it and plugged it back in, unhooked the board from the wires inside the control panel and hooked it back, checked the electrical wall circuits and breaker box. Nothing works, it still fills for a few seconds then stops. It will cost us over $100 just to have someone look at it. I can't see spending that when I can easily find out what could be the cause and troubleshoot myself. The only other piece of info I have is that we had a storm knock out our electricity for not even an hour a few days before. I had not used it since that storm until I found it was not working. Our electricity has went off before but never affected our washer or dryer. Dryer is the match to this washer and it works fine. Any suggestions? Thank you!!!:)

You have a thermistor-controlled water valve. Either one of the valves is fouled with debris, and not functioning properly, there's a problem with the water flow at the source, or the ATC (Automatic Temperature Control) is malfunctioning.

I have a MAVT546EWW with the same problem. My electric went out due to a severe T-storm on Aug. 9th, and the next time I tried to use the washer, it would not work. It will fill for a few seconds, then quit. When it stops filling, all of the lights around the control knob light up, go dark, and then the light indicating the wash setting lights up. The washer is 3 years old.

Sounds like the thread I just opened, before I saw this... was this ever resolved? Control board or thermistor inlet switch?
