Gene, Thank you for your reply. The model # is GSH22JFTA CC. Like I said I replaced the main control board as well as the upper thermistor. I jumped the heater wire on the board and the heater glows red. I suppose this means the thermostat as well as the heater is functioning correctly. The only thing I didn't replace was the lower thermistor. Could this be the problem? The upper thermistor did have some black on the tip. Thank you for your quick reply.

Sounds really strange. Replace the second thermistor and, if it would not solve the problem, then probably one of new parts is defective.

Hello Gene,
Perhaps you can get me sorted. I have a non-working GE GSL22JFPH BS, neither the fridge nor the freezer seem to be cooling. I ordered an new motherboard, although the fridge seems to be running, although the compressor does seem quiet (perhaps it's just that way on this model?) I installed the new mobo part #AP4436216, but the unit is still not cooling down. Any idea what other problems I should turn my attention to? Any assistance would be appreciated greatly.

I can feel the compressor running & it feels cold to the touch. Where should I be looking fopr the fans? I checked inside the back wall of fridge & freezer and felt some slight air movement, or should I be looking at the fan at the bottom rear of the unit, below the motherboard access area?

If the compressor is running but it is cold on touch, then there is a problem with the sealed (cooling) system. It has to be diagnosed by a pro. You have to call GE to find out if it's still under the warranty.
