My dishwasher started exhibiting some strange behavior today. It starts running by itself and the control panel flashes all the indicators on and off. The items that flash in the indicator window are as follows: Washing, Drying, Er, Clean, S. The indicator lights above the following control buttons also flash at the same time: Ultimate Scrub, Speed Clean and Normal Wash. I can clear all of these by pressing the Start Cancel button several times but after it sits for a short period of time it starts doing the same thing again. I finally just turned the circuit breaker off to make it stop.

We had a quick power drop out today while I was on the computer and I had to restart my computer to bring it back up. I do not know if the power bump had anything to do with the problem but I suspect that it may have since the dishwasher was just fine this morning.

Help in diagnosing this would be appreciated. Thank you

Most likely the problem is a bad key pad but there is a small chance for the control board to be bad as well.

Run the service test as described in the Tech sheet and post the results.

Here are the breakdown diagrams and Replacement parts for FRG GLD4355RFB0 | AppliancePartsPros.com

Thanks for the tech sheet Gene! I ran the service test after I turned the breaker on so it was in the power failure mode at the start of the Water/Service test. I ran it twice with the same result. It stepped through all eight steps of the test without a fault. When finished it ended with Clean and S showing on the indicator. I opened the door and then shut it again. The indicator is now blank, as it should be, and has been for a couple of hours now. I guess we will see if that stays true the rest of the day.

Sorry for my slow response to your previous post. I have been out of town for a few days.

Thanks again for your help.

Hello Gene,
Just as I suspected from previous actions, the problem is back. It sat all day without any indications that is was going to malfunction again (Although I did not wash any dishes in it). Over night that changed. This morning when I got up the indicator was flipping back and forth between 46 and 93 and the speed clean and normal wash indicators were alternating back and forth. Does this tell you anything?

Thanks again --
