After shopping yesterday I woke up to find that everything in the freezer was melted and there is a clicking or popping sound coming from the fridgerator. I have unplugged and cleaned everything. When I plugged in the fridge again it is still warm inside. Can this mean my thermostat is out?:(

Sounds like the problem is with the compressor or with the start components.

If the fridge is less then 5 years old, then the compressor is under the full manufacturer warranty. This warranty does not cover the start components.

I would recommend to replace the start components first and if it would not help - call the Whirlpool.

- The part number for the start components is AP3108669

- Here are the break down diagrams for the Whirlpool refrigerator Model ET16JMXHW00

Good luck.
Gene.

My GE fridge is about 3 years old. Recently, it starts making clicking noise, both fans are not working (one fan in the freezer compartment, and one fan is in the lower back of the fridge to cool down the compressor) I felt the main control board and it sounds like the noise is coming from the board. Both fans are trying to move on every click but could not.
What do you think the problem is. Is my fridge still under manufacture waranty? Model: GSH25JFRF BB; S/N MH220724.
Any help is appreciated....Thanks.

Most likely the problem is a bad main control board. Standard warranty on this part is one year. You can call GE customer service to find out if there is any additional warranty. I do not have such information.

- The part number for the main control board is AP3950129

Thank you Gene. I'll have the technician come out anyways.
