I have a Kitchen Aid Washer that is now 21 years old. This washer has been a real work horse. It is still working however there are several repairs which are needing to be done soon. 1) The tub needs to be replaced. 2) When washing, the agitater is moving but the tub is not. 3) needs a new lid switch. 4) I am certain there are other parts needing replaced based on age. The cabinet is in good to very good condition. There are parts available to fix this machine.

I have looked at replacing my machine, however have not been impressed with machines and reviews available. Appliances are not built to last 2+ decades anymore. You are lucky to get 6-8 years out of them now. Is there another "work horse" washer you can reccomend, or should I go ahead and repair my Kithchen Aid Washer???

2) When washing, the agitater is moving but the tub is not.

The tub should not move when the during the wash cycle when the agitator is moving. If it did move then you have a problem.
