The cook time is never reached. The microwave will turn off after only a few seconds of running. I have to reprogram the time and date each time it shuts off before the cook cycle completes. Just like I have to do if there is a power outage. I would like to know if there is a part that goes bad that would cause this and can I fix it easily or would it be time to buy a new microwave?
Thanks, Dan.

Hi Dan,

Most likely the problem is a bad magnetron (#73 on the diagram)

This part is not too difficult to replace yourself, but the microwave has to be removed from the cabinet.

If you need the correct part number for the magnetron then post the rest of the model number. The name plate is inside the microwave.

Sorry for the delay.

The part number for the magnetron kit is AP2631638 and this kit included the stirrer and the high voltage diode.

Here are the breakdown diagrams and Replacement parts for GE JVM1650BB003 | AppliancePartsPros.com
