I INSTALLED NEW IGNITER OVEN WAS NOT LIGHTING WORKS FINE NOW BUT WHEN I SHUT IT DOWN GAS IS LEAKING FROM ORFICE IS THE OVEN SAFETY VALVE SHOT?:confused:

If gas is escaping the oven gas valve even when the ignitor is not on and glowing, yes the valve would have to be defective and need replacing.

That valve should close tightly stopping all gas flow when power is discontinued from the ignitor circuit.
