My bake unit sparked and hissed, so I turned the oven off and let it cool. When I touched the bake unit, it split in two. The oven is 20 years old and this is the first problem I've had. Is it worth repairing? If so, any idea of the labor costs? Any idea how to find reputable service? Any thoughts appreciated. Thanks.

If just a failed bake element, in most cases, yes it would be worthwhile to have repaired.

That depends on where you live and the going rates in that area. Call around. It is however one of the easier repair jobs (see the following link) which most homeowners could likely do them self.
