The microwave is working just fine but it will not heat the food. With Christmas just two days away how can I fix it? I have looked at the diagrams and but I don't know where to access the unit to find the parts that need replaced. Cause of the problem and the way to access the area, greatly appreciated.

If the microwave does not make any unusual noises, then most likely the problem is a bad magnetron tube.

Set the microwave on the defrost for one minute and carefully listen to it. If you could hear when is switched from heat to non heat - no questions this is the faulty magnetron tube.

If the microwave is less then five years old then the part is still under the manufacturer warranty ("Use and care manual", page 40) and you have to call the GE.

- The part number for the magnetron tube is AP2025937

- Here are the break down diagrams for the Hotpoint microwave Model RVM1335BC001

Happy Holidays!
