My Waste King disposal works for 2 seconds, then trips the red swith and shuts off. There is also an electrical smell - like something is burning? I have manually moved the blades and they turn. I can push in the red swith and repeat the process. Always does the same thing. It is 3/4 hp. Is it an electrical problem -in the wiring - or is it a problem with with disposal? It worked fine until 3 months ago.

If there is nothing obstructing the blades then the motor has gone bad. The correction is to replace the garbage disposal.
Gene.
